Garry Peter Leigh
Born in Lytham-St-Annes in May 1963, his first work experience was in the retail food sector. Garry opened his own business which, over a two year period, developed into ten outlets, which he sold onto a larger chain.
As only a teenager, Garry entered the licensee trade and became the youngest publican in the City of Sheffield. This business again developed into a chain of outlets, which was comprised of freehold and leasehold properties in association with Courage and Whitbread brewers. Thereafter he sold the chain and relocated to Spain with his family.
By early 1994 Garry had established an extremely successful sales and marketing company in the Holiday Ownership sector when he was joined by Keith Barker who, at the time, was developing computer control systems. Keith's ability was soon recognized as a great asset for the company which placed a great deal of importance on prudent control. After a period of employment with the Company Garry invited Keith to become a partner and they entered into a joint venture. Together they developed the Company from its original sales and marketing base into a Group of interconnected companies excelling in sales, marketing, promotion, design, computer programming, reservations and customer services.
Garry has always been a great believer in using other peoples experiences to advance rather than having to evolve through personal trial and error, as such he has been guided in establishing sound principles by many of his heroes including Winston Churchill, John F. Kennedy, Mahatma Gandhi, Margaret Thatcher, Maumoon Gayoom, Juan Carlos 1, Henry Ford, Dale Carnegie, Lee Icoca, Ted Turner, Rupert Murdock , Paul Sykes, Joe Whitlam, Terry McKay, Carly Fiorina, Barbra Cassani and Ros Perot to name but a few.
Although Garry values creativity very highly his main emphasis is upon innovation, putting ideas into action, having a complete bias for action, keeping goals in the forefront of the Company’s thinking, developing plans for their attainment, taking massive action towards the plans, having sensory acuity, noticing what the Company’s actions are producing then varying the approach until every goal set is achieved. Many a true word is said in jest and it has been said about Garry that “He achieves the impossible in the short term and miracles in the medium because he is too dumb to know they can not be done”.
Garry is Ros Perot like in the protection of his staff, not to say he is an easy touch, he is a hard task master providing an environment for his colleagues to test and stretch their abilities and minutes after great things are achieved Garry is always their to congratulate them then demand more!
Garry is often heard saying “That whilst other companies go to bed at night and dream of worthy accomplishments the Timelinx Group stays awake and achieves them”.
Garry and his colleagues have drawn upon other peoples experiences and personal experiences to shape the way the Company and its associates work this has become “The Timelinx Way”.
